Students are encouraged when they have an input into their reading selections. My students have voiced their "want to" in reading this novel, A Wrinkle in Time, and completing a variety of activities involved in this. My students voted that this would be their top choice if we could only read one novel this year. This shows that students will be highly engaged in the novel study because of their intense interest in the novel. The students are already planning which groups will do the various activities we have been researching. The students excitement is contagious and even those reluctant readers are anxiously awaiting our novels.
