At our school, we have over 250 English Language Learners! We have over 20 languages, most are Spanish speaking. We have a lot of families who are dealing with tough life challenges (Foster Care, parents in jail, gender identity, thief, race, and divorce). These books will create positive conversations and open up opportunities, allowing for new insight and understanding within our community. Creating such conversations will open the doors for my students to reflect, be honest, and develop empathy in today's tough society. Students will feel safe sharing their life experiences as they are validated through literature. Please help me create this environment for my students.

About my class
