These selected textbooks will help to prepare our next generation educators for their future classrooms and students. First Days of School is an incredible book that really paints a picture for teachers of their first year in the classroom. With the structure of education programs, most future teachers will be in the classroom their first year of college. Introducing our students to this college text ahead of time will help them begin to build their thoughts and plans with the right foundation. Our students come from different homes, backgrounds, needs, learning styles and more. A Framework for Understanding Poverty in the Classroom provides an incredible look at the needs and aptitudes of students growing up in poverty. This text is used at the collegiate level as well as in professional development for practicing teachers. Poverty truly is a foreign language, but educators able to understand and speak this language of poverty are able to reach these special students on a much deeper level.
