I am seeking balance ball chairs, Wobble chairs, standing tables, and bicycle exercisers to "ditch the desks" in my classroom. These materials will be used by all students in my classroom and are extremely important for students who struggle to maintain focus and attention. Research shows that adding flexible seating options that support movement leads to greater student success. These materials will allow students to burn more calories, increase motivation and engagement, create better oxygen flow to the brain, and improve overall posture. This will lead to improved classroom behavior, higher engagement, and overall a more positive environment for learning. I want my classroom environment to be conducive to collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This cannot truly be accomplished within the confines of traditional classroom designs. These materials will continue to push my classroom into a more student centered environment.
