Donations will go to purchasing chapter books to be used for literature circles. Literature circles are a chance for students to learn literary elements through a variety of texts and small group discussions. Students often don't have a chance to choose how they learn. This can lead to uninterested and disengaged students. By donating to this project, you will be empowering students to have choice in the classroom: they will get to select what book interests them the most for the literature circles. This will lead to higher student engagement and excitement for learning. The books I have selected reflect and add on to our curriculum in new and exciting ways. I can't wait to see their faces when they realize they get to select how they will be learning this year!
