My students LOVE to read! Our school has adopted the practice of Readers Workshop where students shop weekly for books. The books they shop for are books they are interested in and on their reading levels. Giving them a choice has added to the excitement of reading. Students have discovered new authors, book series, and topics of interest. They look forward to book shopping each week to discover a new book, and they look forward to their independent reading time where they can sit and just read! Nonfiction has been a genre that they are gravitating toward and are continually asking for more of! This project will provide three additional book bins that students will be excited to discover.
