Our classroom is made up of kindergarten and first grade students. Our students have active bodies and active imaginations. All of the students have been identify with behavioral and emotional struggles. The students' needs are met with our theraputic classroom that focuses on academic instruction as well as social instruction and behavior interventions. Our students receive full instruction on reading, math, writing, and science. We teach using hands-on activities that reinforce fundamental skills. These skills we can continue to build on to encourage creative thingking and problem solving skills. Our students also receive social instruction that focuses on identifying emotions, using coping skills, and interacting appropriately with others. Positive behaviors are reinforced and celebrated throughout the day.
