Every day my students will walk through our classroom door and get welcomed to a refreshing environment where they can feel safe, empowered and explore. My school has a diversity school of .73, while the Indiana average is only .27. With this diversity comes a large English Second Language population. My students are exposed to English at school, but many of them live in homes where no one speaks English. At my school 92% of the population qualify for free and reduced lunch. These kids are excited to learn a new language and to begin understanding the language they are constantly surrounded by. My kiddos will be 6 to 7 years old and love to get hands on when they learn.
