A classroom rug plays an essential role in the classroom landscape. It is similar to the family dinner table, as it is the place where students and teachers come together to share, listen, and learn from one another. My students will come together on our classroom rug on a daily basis to participate in morning meetings, phonics instruction, and guided reading activities. The rug I have chosen is large enough to accommodate all of the students in our class. The circle design will allow each student to have their own personal learning space. This will especially benefit our students with disabilities, who require visual and spatial reminders. This landing pad for learning will help transform our classroom into a comfortable yet productive learning environment.
