We recently had the opportunity to visit Qualcomm’s thinkabit lab and my students were introduced to engineering through the use of Arduino. Based on their enthusiastic feedback having our own Arduinos to work with would enhance students' learning and improve their school lives. Arduino will allow my students to become familiar with electronics theory, programming, problem solving, and troubleshooting. Students will first learn the fundamental electronics and the basics of electronics safety. Next they will explore their way through the Arduino starter kits in pairs. They will learn by doing. Through trial and error, troubleshooting, and internet research students will learn the fundamentals of programming and engineering with Arduino.
