By offering my students audio books, I will be able to increase their exposure to print and English language both. Because the books are audible, I can use this to add to students' knowledge of current curriculum. I can also use this system to differentiate for my lower readers. For students who come from non-English speaking homes, this may be the only independent exposure to English stories. I will be able to supplement and extend my lessons as well as increase the number of vocabulary words students hear. Reading aloud to children is a vital, but difficult activity to provide. My young students aren't able to read high interest books yet, and this will be a great way to encourage them to strive toward their reading minute goals!
