Hello! Thanks so much for checking out my Donors Choose page. Creating a welcoming, safe, comfortable environment for my students is my ultimate priority; without that, meaningful learning won't take place. Once a week, students get 25 minutes of independent reading time, which is what you're seeing in the classroom photo on this page. Kids get to sit where they want and read how they want; even the Captain America kiddo is reading -- his book is in his lap. :) On Fridays, I read aloud to my students, and the environment looks very similar, although some kids may be drawing while they're listening, but they stop to engage in conversation about the text. Could you help me add flexible seating and lap desks to this environment? My kids and I would really appreciate it!
