I am requesting an iPad mini with protective case to enhance their literacy centers. My school and classroom lack technology as a whole and, as a result, my students do not have the opportunity in my classroom to enrich their learning through technology. An iPad would be used during our literacy centers as well as math stations. Students would be able to listen to books and interact with others through websites and apps. I could easily customize the iPad with materials that cater to my students' individual needs and learning styles. Every lesson or station would be more hands-on and creative. Collaborating and working together on an iPad will help my students to better their social and academic language as well. iPads allow for student creativity and critical thinking. My students are critical thinkers and creators but they need a means to express it better. My students need this iPad so they can be engaged in student-centered learning activities that promote interactive engagement.
Most of my scholars do not have any computers, and certainly not iPads, in their homes, so having access to one at school is essential. In today's world, a classroom iPad is no longer a luxury--it is a basic necessity.
