If we are awarded this funding, between the school budget and the DonorsChoose contribution, our families will not have to pay for the trip. Hotels, meals, transportation, and registration are expensive. Our goal is to represent our school well at this competition and figure out if we want to enter the career in which we are competing. Financial Literacy happens with experience! There is no better way to build financial skills than for a student to manage their expenses at a conference. Through SkillsUSA we can develop valuable financial literacy skills including cash flow statements, trade-off's, opportunity costs, tracking expenses, and zero-based budgeting. The SkillsUSA National competition is an annual event It is important that we send our state winners to nationals. Our community expects us to be winning. This competition helps us solve making a career choice. When we compete, we learn if we like the work and we begin to visualize ourselves in the career in which we are competing.
