I am asking for fifty different nonfiction titles including multiple copies of What Are the US Regions?; The Southwest; You Wouldn't Want to Sail on the Mayflower!: A Trip That Took Entirely Too Long; You Wouldn't Want to Work on the Railroad!, and Oceans: Geology and Weather. The materials in this project will have a prominent place in our classroom. All the books will be sorted by topics and placed in easy to access storage bins for students to find. In fact, my students are responsible for categorizing and placing the books in our library. Nonfiction books are getting a new reputation in fifth grade. These books will be used by students to do research for all of their various projects (genius hour research projects and exhibitions) that they will be participating in throughout their fifth grade school year. With your help and donations, this will the year of nonfiction.
