I teach at-risk students, grades 7-12, in an evening program. Our school district is considered a high need district in our state. It is a district that takes pride in its diversity and community. My students have all met serious obstacles in obtaining credits in the courses I teach, required history and geography. The biggest obstacle is that hey unanimously think "what does that have to do with me?"
