How do we create an environment for a child to grasp and embrace the idea that reading and writing are crucial to his success? Just as parents provide a safe and comfortable home for their children, we strive, as educators, to build a classroom that nurtures our students’ interests and support their academic and social development. Many of the items requested will help our students organize the different tools that they need to read and write; all in all, the inventory will support the development of our students’ writing and reading habits. Our students are excited about applying their newly acquired knowledge of letters and sounds in their reading and writing. We are providing them with folders to hold their writing papers, markers, and leveled books to take home, among others. But they need storage structures to keep these tools organized.
