Students will be able to borrow books to take home and read on a daily basis. The following day, they will be able to take a reading comprehension test on their books. Having a variety and higher quantity of reading books, will enable students to borrow more than two books a day. The reading goal in 1st grade is that students receive 100 A.R. reading comprehension points, but because each 1st grade book is worth half a point, students must read over 200 books to meet their AR reading goal. I would like to facilitate the access to a variety of high quality reading materials that will enable my students to become avid readers and at the same time meet and surpass their reading goals.
