Children will have access to the easel daily. This allows children at all developmental levels to explore through art. Students will investigate different textures. Children will learn science through self exploration by mixing of colors. Children will be creative and use imagination by describing their artwork. Using the easel and paint will give daily opportunities to students who are tactile defensive to become more familiar and less apprehensive in the use of paint as a media. Painting may also support behaviors within the classroom. Painting may be an outlet to talk about feelings or take time out from other activities in a creative way. Finally, research shows arts is just good for children. When art is used daily, it supports children academically through science, inventiveness, motor development, and visual learning.
