My students have special needs that impact their social and emotional functioning both in their classroom and their world. Each school day we spend time focused on a specific social or emotional skill. In order to maximize my students' learning and help them grow to their social and emotional potential, it is imperative to have access to social and emotional skills curriculum as well as a strong classroom library full of books that address a variety of social and emotional skills. Books are read aloud to the children and discussions take place both during and after the reading to teach the skill the book is focusing on.
