Two second grade standards focus on publishing writing using digital tools, and creating audio recordings of stories or poems complete with visual displays to show understanding. This project will make these goals possible, by giving my students the technology they need. The Chromebooks and audio devices will be used by my students to record audio presentations. There are numerous ways these presentations can help students; from showing fluent reading with inflection to their teacher in a new and engaging way, to listening to stories read by fellow classmates with headphones. The Chromebooks will also be used to conduct research and compose writing assignments. Second graders have emerging research skills, and the use of technology to teach kids basic study habits is crucial. The color printer will allow students to publish writing with color images in creative and interesting ways. Naturally, engaging, exciting, and current technology tools can be highly motivating for students. Motivated students learn. I am very excited about this project and the limitless imaginations that can thrive while learning and practicing academic content!
