Many of my students need sensory breaks to relax, de-stress and refocus their attention. These items in the new sensory room will be great for them to utilize when needing a place to calm down or just to take a break from it all! These sensory items will help reduce anxiety and stress for the students and the classroom!! This donation will assist students in several ways and in turn will increase their academic success in the special education classroom as well as the general ed classroom. Several of my students do not like loud noises, therefore we desperately need the headphones!! Also, when my kids are having a rough time, they like a quiet spot to relax, so the Sensory Bubble Tube would be perfect to help them calm down. The crash pad would be great for sensory stimulation or balance activities!! And we all know, that weighted lap pads can work wonders for kids that are trying to focus and keep in their seats while working!! All these items will be used throughout the day and during our sensory break times and even for rewards!!
