In today's world, technology takes center stage everywhere and that is no different in the classroom. My students love to use technology. We have wonderful online opportunities with our English Language Arts and Math programs, but not enough computers for the students to have ample opportunities to use the programs. I will be able to use the laptops in reading and math centers daily. My students will be able to further develop their reading skills by using Ticket To Read. This program allows children to work at their own instructional level and pace. It hones in on the skills that need solidified. They will also be able to practice math skills through First In Math and Everyday Mathematics in an engaging way. This project will ensure that my students have meaningful experiences with technology daily. Not only will my children become experts in the realm of technology; they will grow in all core academic areas as well. My reluctant readers and writers will want to use the technology to learn. My students will master math facts, and they won't have to endure rote drill and practice activities with paper and pencil. This project will give my class the opportunity to thrive in a world that is centered around technology!
