Students will use just right books to help to build confidence and excite students about learning. Leveled books will help students read at their instructional reading level to help keep them engaged so they don't become discouraged with texts that are too difficult. When students read "just-right" books, it will build their confidence as readers, and keep them on task. I work in a 2nd grade inclusion classroom, where reading levels range from kindergarten to a 4th grade level. Having more books to fit the needs of everyone will help move students closer to grade level reading. It is only my 2nd year teaching 2nd grade, so building my classroom library will help me meet student needs for years to come.
