I am looking to create a small library of graphic novels that I could check out to students from my classroom. I work with students who too often get discouraged about reading because the majority of reading materials at their level are small picture books. No one in 5th grade wants to be seen walking around with a Dr. Seuss book, when their peers are reading Harry Potter. I have bought a couple of these types of books on my own: Smile, Sisters, Ghost, and they are constantly being read by my students. I love when a student who struggles with reading, comes up to me asking about the next book in a series, and I have been able to see that several times, thanks to these graphic novels!
