3-D printing is a medium that is still a mystery to most students. At the same time, it is absolutely the wave of the future in the fields of medicine, engineering, design, and so many more. A 3D printer and its software will allow my students to engineer a replica of an ancient artifact into tactile reality! A 3D printer would give my students to opportunity for a hands-on learning experience, allowing them to delve more deeply into the fields of science. The first thing we would create is an artifact; something they might never have the ability to touch with their own hands. At The British Museum, for example, there is a free collection of 3D prints that would allow students to hold and build fossils from across the world - something they would never have the opportunity to do otherwise.
