In my classroom, it is important for me to provide a safe environment as well as create a sense of normalcy for our students as best as I can. Having these sensory materials and tools will help the students stay focused and on-task which ultimately enables them to succeed in their academic work. If a student is upset, he could squeeze a small stress ball. Often students need deep pressure input; a "huggy swing" can give them that needed support. An education on how to manage feelings can come in the form of the games on feelings I am requesting.
