Our language Arts and Reading Departments have adopted Penny Kittle's Book Love model. This model encourages teachers to have an abundance of books available in the class room for students to choose from. The teacher, through book talks, or fellow students, encourage each other to read and enjoy a wide-variety of literature. "Rich and rewarding reading lives are within reach for all our students." The key is to have many books, attractively displayed and within easy reach, in our classrooms. All students are encouraged to have an independent novel choice going at all times. Strong readers are strong writers are strong thinkers!
