Many students in my school do not have resources to books or the ability to go to a library. The only books these students get are from the school library. These books are meant for the students' enjoyment and are usually not on their reading level. I would like to obtain books to send home with each child on their appropriate reading level. We are expecting children to read independently each night, but many of them do not have any books at home. The book would be placed in a bag, sent home, and returned when the child is done reading it. Students would be able to read books on their level, and therefore increase their success as a reader. Increasing their opportunities to read will improve their reading ability.
