In order to help guide my students through a successful year, I would need extra curricular materials for my classroom. Once my students begin to practice informational, fictional, and evidence based reading, they will learn to capture more than just a love of reading but also enjoy real ideas and learn exciting new information that they can share with family and friends. We practice this everyday in our curriculum but the students do not receive enough outside sources to aid this process. By providing students with different genres of book, I will be able to let them choose which books they want to read and enjoy. The tablet will allow me to download educational reading specific apps that will allow them to learn through play and examine the many different ways comprehension and vocabulary increase their mindset. Not only will my students be learning new and exciting ideas but so will I because of my great love of reading.
