At Escuela Verde, the students we serve are our top priority. We truly believe that, as the philosopher Freire proposed, education is “an instrument of liberation.” Visiting six universities in two states will help our students feel like post-secondary education options are accessible to them. Our hope is that, when students embrace education as the key to their own personal liberation and self-actualization, they will forge their own path to a happy, healthy, meaningful life. We help students to do this by providing them with opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Specifically, this project will help fund the transportation costs to make this trip happen. The school will match the cost by providing food and lodging for the trip.
