Reading books online just isn't the same as holding a chapter book in your hands! My class has been looking forward to reading three different books by my favorite children's author, but now with the closing of the schools, they no longer have access to the books. By purchasing the book, "Because of Winn Dixie", my class will still be able to immerse themselves in a wonderfully told tale of a lonely girl who is missing her friends (as many of us are right now), but with the help of a rambunctious, scruffy dog, she makes new friends and becomes closer to her dad. I may not be able to read all three stories to my class, but at least we can have fun reading this one together via online learning.
