Using interactive notebooks will help my students to better organize and express their thoughts. Activities collected for these notebooks will be teacher guided and used as a whole group. The outcomes of these activities will highlight where students are in their understanding of the subject. These notebooks will build and strengthen the communication between student, teacher and parent. Parents will be able to have a resource into the learning that is taking place in the classroom. These notebooks will also be a part of individual portfolios for each student; this will allow their growth to be tracked over a period of time. These will be great to show parents during parent-teacher conferences and to discuss with students individually when establishing academic goals in the classroom.
