Alphabet skills and phonics are essential building blocks of literacy. Children need alphabet practice to develop reading and writing skills. Learning happens when students are engaged, having fun, and feeling successful. Using color-coded letter magnets and letter tiles can make learning both engaging and fun. They lend themselves to many activities and games around letter identification, phonics, word building, word families, and more! Along with the Letter Recognition Instant Learning Center and individual student magnetic boards and lapboards, the above items can be used for both independent student practice and as part of small group differentiated mini-lessons to offer children a variety of spelling, writing and reading practices.
