These new books will emphasize the importance of why we read...to learn. The students want to see that reading can allow them to enter a world of their own. It can open their minds to opportunities, and inspire them through possibilities. The gift of reading is truly an investment in the futures of the students, no matter what their reading level. To have a rich classroom library filled with beautiful and relatable stories is just what will help my students continue their quest to improve as readers and find themselves despite diverse challenges. These books will allow for identity appreciation.
