I am looking to expand my students' opportunities for flexible seating through crate seats and wobble seats. I have noticed many of my students becoming uncomfortable in the several hard plastic chairs we have in our classroom (as I'm sure you can imagine!). I am in the process of obtaining balance balls and stools, but would love to have a couple other options for students as well! Imagine a classroom where students are engaged in learning throughout the room in a comfortable place to suit their individual needs. Some students are using a clipboard at the rug. Others have chosen a balance ball to increase their concentration at a table. Still, some others are standing, kneeling, or lying down. This project will make it possible for my students to learn in a way that is comfortable and engaging for them every single day.
