Flexible seating will provide students with a choice as to where they sit in class to learn each day. Students will choose between several different options to better help them learn in school. I have asked for things like wobble cushions, yoga balls, and lap desks. Each student will be able to decide how and where they sit in order to do their absolute best in school. Students can choose to work on their stomachs if they choose! I want to create a very fun and relaxing environment for the kids. Students will learn to guide their own learning. By using flexible seating in the classroom, the students will learn how to make good decisions with their academic success. I am so excited to try this in my classroom! I have several teacher friends that have implemented flexible seating. They all say great things about it! I'm also very curious to watch the students and to see how much initiative they take upon themselves with their learning.
