These materials will make a drastic difference in the learning of all my English Language Arts students. Our students live in a world of ever expanding technology. Their access to technology needs to be available in the classroom too. With these laptops my struggling students, will be able to engage in interactive, research proven, online programs, to help them make progress towards their individual learning goals. My average, on level readers and writers, will be challenged with more access to different texts and interactive resources. My advanced students will be able to immerse themselves in independent research projects to enhance their literacy skills. Student engagement is a constant challenge that all educators face; I have found technology to be one of the most effective solutions. When students are not invested in their classroom lessons, learning gains are nearly impossible to make. With the addition of 6 computers to our class, this problem will be solved. My classes will be able to use the laptops to participate in interactive teacher and student led lessons. My classroom, currently, only has 3 computers, making it impossible to provide each student daily access to them, the additional laptops will solve this problem.
