In my classroom, we use a water table for hands-on exploration. We had one and it broke! So now we need to replace it. A water table supports learning through language, social skills, measurement activities, and science experiments. Through the use of a water table, the students learn measurement and increase vocabulary. They also learn how to share and take turns. For some students, this is a relaxing way to relieve the stress of their daily lives. The water table will be used during choice time (a time in the day where students get to choose where they want to play/explore) and also during center activities.
