Most of my students have some type of learning or physical disability that makes sitting in traditional chairs akin to torture! In therapy, they always ask to go on one of my swings. You can see the stress melt away when they are able to use them. As a result, they are more talkative, happy and engaged with therapy sessions and with other students and adults. Often teachers will ask to bring a student down to therapy to try these out on a particular student. If you choose to support this project, there will be an assortment of swings for teachers to utilize and try with all students. It is my hope that teachers will see the positive benefits these have on students and will ultimately choose to have at least one in each of their classrooms. Thank you for your consideration.
