Calming and coping tools provide an outlet for elementary school children and help them focus on learning. Furious behaviors are the language of hurting kids, but with coping tools, kids will be able to be kids again, curious and playful. When faced with stressful situations, difficult emotions get in the way of being ready to learn. Because of this project, kids will be distracted from their worries with coping items. Kids overwhelmed with sadness and grief will be comforted with a weighted stuffed animal as they bring it back to the classroom to pet as they sit on their desk.

About my class
