Students will pick from five possible titles and then be grouped into small Lit Circle groups over 4 weeks where they will read and discuss their selected books. Then students will participate in class-wide activities to share their books with each other, looking for commonalities across all of their heroes' journeys. Finally, they will create their own "Hero's Journey" story in the form of a storyboard! This is my students' first year back into in-person learning since 4th grade! The transition has not been easy for many of them, though they have done it admirably! To me, they are all heroes.
