Every year I see young children struggling with the expectations in a traditional classroom. I would like to show my students that I hear their concerns for additional movement opportunities throughout the day. Research states that "exercise helps to balance neurotransmitters creating the best environment for learning." Each child will receive a pedal bike to keep under their desk to use throughout the day. Students will track their exercise minutes in a math journal. Because these are lightweight and compact, we will share them with the 3rd grade team so that others are able to see the powerful benefits of movement. It's a win-win for all. Thank you for providing this kinesthetic opportunity in my classroom. I look forward to sharing the positive outcomes.
