I teach first grade in a Berkeley public school, where the student body is diverse in many different ways: socioeconomically, racially, linguistically, and culturally. I find that the more we show students that we value their learning, the more they value it. In order to maximize student engagement, I try to offer many different choices and allow the students to personalize their learning. Thank you for helping me fill my classroom with engaging choices!
