Can I get a calculator over here? This is a phrase I'm familiar with. A classroom set of calculators will enable my students to work at their own pace. They will be able to finish assignments faster. Having more time on their own device will help them build their skills and knowledge on the calculator. Imagine trying to do a math assignment sharing a calculator with someone else. I would love to see what these kids are capable of if they each had their own calculator to work with. My hope is that by having a calculator for each student they will become more confident in their mathematical abilities.
