Kindergartners in my classroom spend a lot of time together on the carpet every day. This helps to maximize focus and attention. While sitting directly on the rug works for many students, it does not work for all. I want the learning taking place to be accessible for ALL of my students. Cube seats are one alternative for students needing additional or alternative supports. They will help students to be able to sit calmly and safely during circle time. Cube seats will also help my students learn to control their bodies by giving them a clearly defined space. The cubes can be turned over for two different seat heights. Plus, we will also able to turn the cubes over to be used as tables. The students who would benefit from defined seating at the carpet at times benefit from having a quiet space to work independently. Using the cubes as tables could provide that extra space.
