In Pre-K we are working on basic literacy and math skills. There are several age appropriate apps that help students practice letter names, sounds, rhyming and pre-math skills. We are requesting five iPads for opportunities for independent learning during our small group and intervention times. Our class will use iPads during our small group sessions and for our tiered intervention time. Several of our students are language learners or have not had access to Early Childhood opportunities before being in my class. The more we can encourage and support pre-literacy and pre-math skills, the better they will do in Kindergarten. Currently, less than 25% of my students know the letters in their name. My hope is that with these interventions, students feel confident, capable and ready for Kindergarten!
