Readers become better readers by hearing other fluent readers read. I have some Walkmans from years ago that my students think are ancient! I want to give them a "back to the future" experience by using, what they consider, archaic machines. They will use the items in a center with friends as they listen independently to the stories provided. I truly believe when my students sit with a book in hand as they listen to the story, they will get lost in the book and forget all the other troubles they may face after 3:00 pm. Many stories I have requested are either classic stories that have been around for years or new stories and movies that are better recognized by my students. Would you please consider donating to my listening library?
