Leadership is an elective course taken by 8th graders at our School in the City of El Monte. It is an elective that focuses on student improvement and empowerment by having a core curriculum designed around leadership and character development. In addition, the elective is charged with providing service to its student body as a whole through implementation of school wide elections, CA Mock elections, teen court, and yearbook development. This project, and the supplies requested for this project are specifically designed to promote the development, design, and publication of the middle school yearbook. Students are assigned to photo journal specific events around campus, with each student assigned to cover specific area within the yearbook. Each is additionally assigned to graphically design certain pages and format their pictures. The Adobe Photoshop programming will assist the students in the design and publication process. The cameras requested will be assigned and utilized to capture those memorable moments of the middle school experience. All other technological resources are already available at our school site to effectively administer this project.
