Hello..I am a 5th Grade LARTS teacher at Campbell Middle School. This school year I have a total of 70 students. I have students that are ELL and Special education. Out of those 70 students I have 40 Reading at a BELOW grade level, 20 at their GRADE level and 10 ABOVE their grade level. The school in which I teach at is an extremely diverse community with backgrounds from Greek and Puerto Rican. In addition, our school has most students that are on free and reduced breakfast and lunch. Our students and their families receive assistance with a backpack program that provides food items every weekend, school supplies and school uniforms from area businesses. In moving towards a literacy collaborative classroom I am finding financial challenges in providing the enriched classroom filled with leveled books that meet each students needs.
